Lubbock Libraries Unveil Summer Lineup of Free Teen Events for Ages 13 to 17

LUBBOCK, TX – Teens across Lubbock have something to look forward to this summer as local libraries roll out a packed schedule of free events designed to inspire, entertain, and connect youth ages 13 to 17. From crafting and creative writing to silent discos and live-action mystery games, the city’s branch libraries are offering a little something for every interest.
The teen programming began in May with themed movie days and hands-on activities like loom bracelet crafting and textured art. June continues the momentum with highlights such as Teen Laser Tag on June 6 at Groves Library, an after-hours favorite that transforms the stacks into a high-energy battleground.
Anime fans are invited to the Teen Anime Club on June 19 and July 17 at Groves Library, where they can watch fan-favorite shows and enjoy snacks with fellow enthusiasts. Also on June 19, Patterson Branch will host a Juneteenth Glow-in-the-Dark Party, complete with silent disco, glow games, and a dance-off, open to youth ages 10 to 17.
Mystery lovers can head to Godeke Branch on June 23 for a Teen Murder Mystery, where participants work together to crack a fictional case. Meanwhile, K-pop fans can immerse themselves in Korean music, games, and treats at K-Club, happening June 26 at Groves Library.
In July, Mahon Library invites young creatives to express themselves at Color Block Poetry on July 11, where teens can highlight powerful words and transform pages into art. Additional laser tag sessions, hip hop dance classes, and the returning Crochet Critters workshop round out the calendar, offering teens a relaxing space to learn a new skill over multiple sessions.
All events are free and supplies are provided. Registration is required for some sessions, and participation is first come, first served. For questions or to sign up, teens and guardians are encouraged to call the hosting branch.
